At QBS, we want you to get to know the folks you work with, so each month we try to introduce you to someone new. This November, meet Brandy Smiga, Payroll/Tax Administrator.
How long have you worked at QBS and what is your role? I have worked at QBS for 4 months since I relocated from Pennsylvania. I have a dual role at QBS. As a Payroll Administrator, I process payroll for numerous clients to ensure their employees get paid on time and correctly. In my Tax Administrator duties, I assist the tax department in filing quarterly tax return for all of our clients
What’s your favorite part of your job? The thing I enjoy most about my job is personal and pleasant interactions I get to have with different clients. At QBS we have the opportunity to build great, lasting relationships with our clients which is really unique.
What is one of the biggest challenges you face in your role? Time deadlines with each individual payroll are an ongoing challenge as not every client is on the same schedule. It’s my job to ensure that payroll goes out on time, every time, so that our clients’ employees get paid consistently.
What do you believe is the most unique aspect of working at QBS? QBS as a great “family environment” we are all fortunate to work in. We are one big family-oriented group and everyone treats one another with such respect. I couldn’t ask for a better job.
What’s one interesting fact about you that we may not know? I moved down here with my 2 children to try something new and ended up at a wonderful company with great people.
Anything else you’d like to share? (Family, Hobbies, etc.?) I absolutely love being a mom. My #1 hobby is spending quality time with my kids when I get home from work!
