Meet Josh Irick, Client Implementation/Payroll Manager

How long have you worked at QBS and what is your role?
I have been with QBS for three years, since July of 2012 and I am the Client Implementation/Payroll Manager. On a daily basis I manage our payroll department – assisting with any questions or special requests our customers might have. Customer service is of the utmost importance. I also speak to prospective clients – addressing their specific business needs in order to bring on future payrolls.

What’s your favorite part of your job? 
My favorite part of this job is interacting with both potential and existing QBS clients. In any business, client relationships are extremely important and those relationships have to start somewhere. I really enjoy making new ones every day.

QBS was just named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the United States. What do you think is the secret to the companies continued growth? 
I think the secret to our continued growth is simple; it’s our strong ties to the local community and surrounding area. We work hard to help small businesses in any way we can, and in return, we are given their books of business.  We appreciate everyone in SC and our neighboring states.

What is one of the biggest challenges you face as Client Implementation/Payroll Manager for QBS? 
One of the biggest challenges I face is keeping up with the ever-changing laws regarding payroll. Nothing stays the same!

What’s one interesting fact about you that we may not know?
One interesting fact about me is I’m a spelling bee champ. Yes, it was elementary school, but I still won.

Anything else you’d like to share? (Family, Hobbies, etc.?)
I play tennis, am an avid Clemson Tigers football fan (college football fan in general), and I love boating/swimming in summer.
