Meet Arron Drye – Senior Business Consultant

How long have you worked at QBS and what is your role?
I originally started with Vensure Employer Services in June 2019. I was transferred over to QBS a year later and it has been the best move ever. I really enjoy working with everyone here at QBS. Everyone on the team is always willing to lend a helping hand to each other. As they say, teamwork makes the dream work!

What’s your favorite part of your job?
I have always enjoyed sales because it gives me the opportunity to meet new people everyday. At QBS, we are lucky to offer a service that 99% of all businesses need, so not only am I selling a service, but in most cases I’m also building lasting relationships.

What is one of the biggest challenges you face in your role?
Often times, my biggest challenge like most of us) is myself. There isn’t anything we can’t do if we put our minds to it. That said, I’m told no on a daily basis, at least 10-20 times a day, which can be mentally draining. No one wants to be told “no” and definitely not that many times each and every day. So, I have to stay mentally strong and challenge myself to keep on working towards my goals, even when it gets tough.

What makes QBS different/unique from other places you’ve worked?
Well for starters, there are horses and farm animals right outside the doors! Haha, seriously though, it’s the people. Everyone is great to work with.

What would you be doing for a career if you weren’t doing this?
If I wasn’t doing sales, my dream job would be working on a political campaign building experience to run for politcal office myself.

What’s one interesting fact about you that we may not know?
I’m going back to school to finish my degree, pursuing a degree in Political Science, so I’m current taking classes in the evenings. At this rate, it may take me another 5 years, but it’s something I promised myself I would do and complete.

Anything else you’d like to share? (Family, Hobbies, etc.?)
I have 3 great kids – all in college now. My oldest son is graduating Clemson in December, my daughter, a sophomore, is on a softball scholarship at CIU, and my youngest son is a freshman on a baseball scholarship at SMC. It probably won’t surprise you that I also play in an adult baseball league at the ripe old age of 41!
