How long have you worked at QBS and what is your role?I have been at QBS for almost 2 years, and I work in the distribution department. I receive and sort the payroll checks and send them to their designated locations via USPS, FedEx, etc.
What’s your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of my job is my co-workers and the job itself. I have some amazing teammates who are always there to assist or just to make the day great and I take a lot of pride in making sure my job is done well and tasks completed accurately!
I also enjoy the great relationships I have built with our clients. They trust me to ensure their packages will be delivered correctly, which makes my job more meaningful and drives me to continually strive to be better each new day!
What is one of the biggest challenges you face in your role? Distribution definitely comes with some challenges! Our department is responsible to ensure that all payroll checks get to their proper destinations on time, but when shipping providers experience delays due to weather or other issues, it can get a little crazy. However, no matter the challenge, it is always our top priority to ensure our clients’ employees get paid on time.
What makes QBS different/unique from other places you’ve worked? QBS is very different than other jobs I have had. It is located on a small farm with 2 horses and a donkey who are very sweet, and our barn cat Ruby. It is a beautiful atmosphere to take a break and sit outside. The environment is very laid back so there’s not a lot of tension in the office. We all work together and share some good laughs!
What would you be doing for a career if you weren’t doing this? I would most likely be an elementary school teacher. That was my dream growing up. I love kids and I love teaching! Although things happen and not everything turns out the way you thought it was going to, that’s ok. I love my job here at QBS!
What’s one interesting fact about you that we may not know? I was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and absolutely love the beach! It is a bit cold for me up here, but I am adjusting.
Anything else you’d like to share? (Family, Hobbies, etc.?) I love my pup Leo. He is a Shorkie and very sweet but very spoiled! I also enjoy painting and doing lots of crafts!
