How long have you worked at QBS and what is your role?
I have been at QBS for 14+ years, from almost the very beginning, and I work as a Payroll Administrator. On a daily basis, I handle a set group of clients – processing payroll, answering questions and troubleshooting as needed. Overall, I’m responsible to maintain the relationship with these clients, keep them happy and ensure all areas of their payroll stays on track.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I cherish the relationships that I have built with clients over the years. Of course when issues occur, I’m the one who needs to help fix them. But at the end of the day, I help my clients overcome problems in order to create a positive outcome. It feels really good when clients said they missed me when I’ve been away from work for a few days.
You’ve been at QBS since the beginning. What insights can you give us into how things look today vs. back then? Any specific stories/memories?
I can remember when we first started. We worked out of a space above David’s garage, waiting for the phone to ring. Over the years, our team has worked hard to grow the business. It’s been remarkable to see how the company has grown from 2 to 27 employees.
What’s one interesting fact about you that we may not know?
I suppose my clients may not know that I love crafts and crafting – creating unique things for others. I knit hats and scarves for loved ones and for underprivileged kids at an area elementary school. This winter, I am planning to knit hats and scarves to give away/hang downtown for the homeless here in Greenville.
Anything else you’d like to share? (Family, Hobbies, etc.?)
I have a terrific husband, David, and we are parents to 3 lovely children who have blessed us with 8 grandchildren. I try to spend as much time with them as possible in my free time. We are especially proud of our oldest grandson who is currently in Korea with the U.S. Army and our 2nd oldest grandson will be sworn into the U.S. National Guard on June 1st!
