How long have you worked at QBS and what is your role? I am the GL Manager and have been here since December 2020. My role consists of managing the GL team that builds customized accounting reports for our clients.
What’s your favorite part of your job? I enjoy working with my team. They all hold an important role in our team’s and the organization’s success and each person has their own unique skill sets and hobbies. I also enjoy working with clients all over the globe.
What is one of the biggest challenges you face in your role?The biggest challenge we face in our role is being able to obtain all the documentation to complete the setup for the client. Every setup is different and brings different challenges for our team. It can be time consuming and, at times, tedious trying to communicate across multiple departments to ensure the setup is complete before the first payroll is processed.
What makes QBS different/unique from other places you’ve worked? The location of the QBS office is unique, but to me, is comforting and peaceful. I truly believe that management cares for their employees and consistently tries to provide a safe work environment. They go above and beyond in making sure their employees are taken care of and are happy in their roles.
What would you be doing for a career if you weren’t doing this? I have an extensive background in finance so I would probably be back working in a credit union.
What’s one interesting fact about you that we may not know? I am a music minister at my church where our praise team consist of 35+ people. I have been playing the piano and singing since I was 4 years old.
Anything else you’d like to share? (Family, Hobbies, etc.?) I have been married to my best friend for 10+ years and have 2 beautiful children. I enjoy spending time with my family, serving my community with my church, playing, and watching sports, and working on projects around my home.
