Meet Kelli Harvey – Onboarding Supervisor

Headshot of Kelli Harvey

How long have you worked at QBS and what is your role? I started with QBS in June of 2019. I have worked in the payroll industry for 17 years and earned my FPC in October of 2017. I am currently the Supervisor of the OnBoarding department where we focus on electronic employee onboarding.

What’s your favorite part of your job? This job is completely different from any in my past. I love learning new systems and jobs.

What is one of the biggest challenges you face in your role? When I started, I was replacing someone who had been involved with the project from day one. I had to pull and retain as much as I could from her in a short time. Now that I’m “on my own”, I have to catch up when previous issues arise again. This is a challenge of course, but it also keeps the job interesting. ????

QBS is not your typical payroll and benefits firm. What do you think makes it unique? The local presence and family atmosphere definitely set QBS apart from the industry norm. Clients know that we are here for them when they need us and for those who are not local, they don’t have to go through the maze of an automated phone system so they still get a local, personal feel. As an added bonus, I love working on the farm and giving treats to the horses and Eeyore (the donkey).

What’s one interesting fact about you that we may not know? I use to be a cake decorator. I’ve made everything from baby smash cakes shaped like Winnie the Pooh and his honey pot to 9-tier wedding cakes. While I no longer bake “for hire,” I still love to make cakes for my family’s special occasions.

Anything else you’d like to share? (Family, Hobbies, etc.?) I have been married for almost 21 years and we have 2 boys (Dalton and Xander), 2 dogs (Chopper and Roxie), 1 cat (Marcie) and 4 guinea pigs (Ferdinand, Luke, Bo and Skit). We love camping, fishing and binge watching shows on our DVR.
